Insight into “generational thinking” is critical in understanding client behavior patterns and the development of case and treatment plans. During this session Ms. Aderer will:
- Define differences in attitudes, communication styles, & values of the Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation Xers and Millennials.
- Define the impact of generational issues on social work practice.
- Explain ways generational differences impact recruitment, hiring and retention in your agency.
- Identify strategies for setting expectations, supervising and giving feedback to Millennial staff members.

As professionals we must take care and clearly create appropriate “Electronic Boundaries” to protect our professional integrity, client confidentiality and security. During this session we will:- Define the current forms of social media being used by both practitioners and clients building culturally diverse institutions
- Explain ways one’s online presence complements or conflicts with one’s professional presence
- Define issues pertaining to use of social media and confidentiality.
- Define potential boundary issues and dual relationships as they relate to social media
- Clarify strategies to protect clients and practitioners
